How to View MHTL Files?

Opening Mime HTML files

Since Microsoft gave us the ability to save web pages as MHT files in Internet Explorer 5, there has been an explosion of MHT files on our hard drives.  MHT or MHTML files are MIME HTML files. This format allows users to save web pages that have many individual elements into a single self-contained file.

If you have ever done any website design, you know that  your web browser combines many files into a single web page.  Elements can include text, images, fonts, sound files, etc. A web page can consist of dozens of individual elements.  If you want to save a copy of the web page for offline viewing, you can download these elements, placing them in their appropriate folder and sub folder. But if you want to share the offline web page with someone, wouldn't it be easier just to have a single file, rather than dozens of separate files that need to be organized in an exact manner?

That's where MIME HTML comes in. An .mht or .mhtml file is a single file that contains all of those dozens of elements.

Viewing MHT/MHTML files is not difficult. Major web browsers can open individual mht files. Usually, all you have to to is just click on the .mht file and it will pop open in your browser.

Opening MHT files individually can become tedious if you have dozens or hundreds of mhtml files.  A specialized MHT Viewer can make it easy to browse a directory of mhtml files, search through the files, print, and convert mhtml files to popular formats like PDF.

MHT Viewer is a viewer created by software developer Encryptomatic LLC that can help you organize and utilize your MHT file library. MHT Viewer conveniently opens .mht, mhtml and email formats such as .eml, .msg and .pst files.  It's a very handy software utility, and you can download a free trial and make sure it works for you before paying a penny.
